Role Description
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Student Counsellor (UK Higher Education) to join our London office on a full-time, on-site basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising prospective international students on suitable UK universities, courses, and study pathways based on their academic background and career goals.
You will conduct one-to-one consultations, assess student eligibility, support university applications, provide visa and compliance guidance, and ensure an excellent student experience throughout the admissions process.
The role also includes maintaining strong relationships with students and their families, liaising with partner universities, delivering information sessions, achieving recruitment targets, mentoring junior team members, and staying up to date with UK higher education policies and admission requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum
3 years of experience in student counselling, university admissions, or student recruitment within the
UK or overseas
(mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of UK universities, colleges, admissions procedures, and student recruitment processes.
- Good understanding of UK student visa regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to convert enquiries into successful enrolments.
- Proven experience in student counselling and career guidance.
- Outstanding customer service skills with a student-focused approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
- Experience using CRM or student management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Education, Business, Psychology, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
