MON to FRI, early finish with afternoons free, generous company bonus of up to circa 3 months' salary and accredited training opportunities! The Laboratory Technician will be joining a well-established Nottinghamshire-based materials manufacturing business, known for producing high-quality products for a range of sectors across the UK.
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Due to site location, applicants will need their own transport.
Commutable from: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton, Mansfield Woodhouse, Hucknall, South Normanton, Pinxton, Tibshelf, Huthwaite, Mansfield, Skegby, Annesley, Newstead.
Working hours: Monday to Friday: 6:00am to 2:30pm (37.5 hours per week). This role is predominantly days; however, on very rare occasions a night shift may be required. Monday to Thursday: 4:30pm to 5:30am, paid at a 30% shift premium.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation and grinding of raw materials such as aggregates, water, soil and sand
- Sample making and preparation, physical laboratory testing including compressive strength, water absorption and density testing
- Instrumental chemical analysis testing
- Accurate data input into a computerised laboratory management system
- General laboratory duties as directed by the management team
Requirements:
- Previous laboratory testing experience through qualification or practical work experience
- A logical and methodical approach to work
- Experience using computerised systems including Excel and Outlook
- A strong awareness of Health & Safety in a laboratory environment
- Knowledge of analytical techniques and quality assurance processes
