We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Production team in Warwick. This role would also suit Chassis Fitters or Plant Fitters with strong mechanical assembly and hydraulic fitting experience. This is a hands-on role working in a production environment, assembling and installing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to engineering specifications. You will play a key role in building high-quality machinery and plant equipment while working to production schedules and quality standards.
Location: Warwick
Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday to Thursday, 07:00 - 16:30
Pay Rate: £15 - £18.26 per hour (dependant on experience and qualifications)
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical assembly and fitting of components to engineering drawings
- Chassis fitting and installation of mechanical systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic pipework installation and testing
- Working to takt time within a single-line production environment
- Reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping
- Using production and computer-based systems, including PMS
- Supporting other departments and tasks as required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Chassis or Plant Fitter, Assembly Fitter
- Background in mechanical assembly within manufacturing or production
- Strong hydraulic fitting and general mechanical skills
- Experience working on chassis, plant machinery, or heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Comfortable working to deadlines and production targets
- Computer literate and confident using production systems
- Flexible, reliable, and a strong team player
- Willing to work in confined spaces and carry out occasional heavy lifting
Desirable for the Mechanical Fitter:
- NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Training or certification in hydraulics and/or pneumatics
