There is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled engineers for my client based in East London. My Client is looking for a hands‑on Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join the R&D team and help push the limits of Large Format Additive Manufacturing (LFAM). You’ll be working directly with industrial robots in the lab — running large-scale 3D prints, integrating hardware, and experimenting with new manufacturing capabilities. This is a highly practical role for someone who loves working with real systems, not just simulations.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain 6‑axis industrial robots (KUKA experience a plus)
  • Run experimental large‑format 3D prints and analyse results
  • Integrate end‑effectors, sensors, wiring, and automation hardware
  • Prototype mechanical and electronic systems using CAD and workshop tools
  • Test and validate features using Aibuild’s software platform
  • Keep the lab and workshop running safely and smoothly

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Strong hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Understanding of additive manufacturing processes and materials
  • Solid CAD skills (Fusion 360, Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Experience operating industrial robots
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced R&D environment

Nice to Have

  • KUKA robots / KRL programming
  • Python and AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code)
  • Sensors, cameras, or vision systems
