KAM Drainage Ltd

Company Description

KAM Drainage Ltd is a family‑run specialist contractor with a trusted and respected reputation for delivering high‑quality drainage and civil engineering services across the Northwest. Built on strong values of integrity, reliability, and professional excellence, we are proud of the long‑standing relationships we have developed with our clients and the reputation we have earned across the industry.

Our portfolio spans reactive maintenance, planned groundworks, drain laying, repair works, JetVac tanker operations, CCTV drainage surveys, general trades and groundworks. We work across housing, light commercial, and infrastructure sectors, and our continued growth is a direct reflection of the trust our clients place in us to deliver, time after time.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and professionally qualified Site Project Manager to join our growing team. This is a strategic, management‑level role suited to a construction professional with a strong civils background and the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects, from smaller reactive drainage works through to larger civil engineering contracts.

The successful candidate will be a credentialed site management professional who can operate with autonomy, lead teams effectively, and drive project delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme compliance.

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager within civil engineering, groundworks, or drainage.
  • Background in housing and light commercial civils projects.
  • Demonstrable experience managing both directly employed labour and subcontractor trades.
  • Ability to produce and manage site programmes of works and track delivery.
  • Competent in material take‑offs and construction procurement processes.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full site management responsibility across multiple concurrent drainage, groundworks, and civils projects.
  • Produce, issue, and actively track site programmes of works, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Manage KAM's directly employed labour alongside external trades and specialist subcontractors.
  • Conduct material take‑offs and place procurement orders to maintain uninterrupted site progress.
  • Ensure all works are executed in compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and current health & safety legislation.
  • Carry out and record site inspections, identifying and resolving non‑conformances promptly.
  • Coordinate logistics, plant, and resources across all live sites.
  • Serve as the primary interface between site teams, clients, and senior management.
  • Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and project documentation.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a site management professional not a tradesperson transitioning into management, with a demonstrable track record of delivering civils and groundworks projects on housing and light commercial schemes. You will be comfortable working across multiple sites, managing people, programmes, and procurement simultaneously.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with drainage systems, sewer infrastructure, JetVac operations, or CCTV surveys.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Familiarity with NEC or JCT contract environments.
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, entitlement increases with length of service.
  • Company Vehicle, phone & laptop.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Discretionary annual bonus and annual salary review.
  • Dedicated and continued investment in your professional development.
