What will I be doing?
You’ll join the Kaluza Technology community, working on the Energy Retail platform, a scalable SaaS product supporting energy retailers and decarbonisation efforts. In this role, you’ll build and maintain backend services using TypeScript, contributing to event‑driven systems that power reliable, real‑time features. You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer‑focused solutions, while taking ownership of services from design through to production. Along the way, you’ll work with cloud technologies like AWS, optimise performance and data models, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
About You
- Strong experience developing backend applications, ideally with TypeScript or the ability to pick it up quickly
- A solid understanding of event‑driven systems and working with queues
- Confidence working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), particularly serverless technologies
- Experience with database design, optimisation, and maintenance (SQL or NoSQL)
- A passion for building high‑quality software and solving real customer problems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing
- A proactive mindset and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments
