The Senior Finance Operations Manager is an experienced people leader who oversees management accounting and financial reporting across Kaluza’s international footprint. The role is broad by design: you will work on issues of a diverse and complex nature, spanning multiple jurisdictions and business functions in the UK, Portugal, France, Japan and the US.

The key objectives of the Kaluza FinOps team are:

  • Financial Control: to ensure resources are directed, monitored and measured in an accurate and timely manner and to maintain a ‘No Surprises Environment’
  • Value creation through more efficient processes and AI frameworks.

You will be the primary contact for internal teams on all finance operations matters, responsible for the smooth running of the function and for driving process improvements across our global teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting: Month-end and year-end close management, including preparation of monthly management accounts and contribution to Board reporting packs. Consolidation of Kaluza’s global results with meaningful analysis for the Board, Executive team and external stakeholders. Balance sheet reconciliation review and preparation, including creation and maintenance of technical accounting papers under IFRS. Managing and monitoring compliance across all international tax obligations, including VAT, payroll taxes and other employee‑related taxes, working alongside the Tax Manager. Preparation and review of workpapers for the annual statutory accounts; acting as key contact for the external auditor and supporting the Group audit process. Support for the set‑up of new international business financial systems and processes, including support and review of international entity reporting into the Group.
  • Finance operations: AP/AR oversight, journal posting and accruals review, and balance sheet ownership in support of the wider FinOps team. Ongoing maintenance of the financial internal controls environment and production of monthly KPI reporting. Payroll controls framework ownership alongside the Payroll Manager, including oversight of the Global Payroll Operations function and management of provider relationships across all locations. Process automation review and support for the FinOps team, including assistance with one‑off projects and workflow monitoring to ensure workplans are adequately resourced.
  • People and leadership: Coach, lead and develop the FinOps and Payroll team, including effective performance management and career framework development. Set clear goals for the team, aligning people and resources to solve complex problems. Work closely with other people leaders and counterparts in People Operations, championing alignment in ways of working and cross‑functional collaboration. Actively contribute to building a great culture at Kaluza, including organising or leading activities for your squad or wider community.

About you:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with at least five years of post‑qualification experience.
  • Has experience of accounting and company administration across multiple jurisdictions under IFRS.
  • Has a commercial, entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of initiative, and is comfortable proposing, justifying and implementing change in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Has strong presentation, relationship‑building and conflict resolution skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Can apply analytical skills beyond traditional finance functions and bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues.
  • Is a diligent, detail‑oriented team player who can also step back, see the bigger picture and present information clearly to a non‑finance audience.
  • Communicates openly, keeps colleagues informed and shares knowledge without prompting.
