This role reports to the General Counsel and is based in London, with a hybrid flexible work model. The salary range for this position is £107,000–£134,000 per annum. This position is NOT open to visa sponsorship at this time.
What will you be doing?
- As a key member of the Legal team, you will act as a strategic partner to the business, balancing commercial velocity with robust risk management. You will take ownership of complex, high‐value deals that drive Kaluza's global expansion.
- Lead Strategic Deal Structures – Draft, negotiate, and close complex SaaS subscription agreements, professional services contracts, and strategic partnership agreements with international enterprise clients. Handle high‐stakes negotiations involving IP licensing, cloud liability, and data protection.
- Drive Commercial Strategy – Act as the core legal advisor to the Commercial and Bid teams, supporting RFPs, pricing structures, and risk allocation strategies for large‐scale international deals.
- Scale Legal Operations – Own and evolve commercial playbooks, standard templates, and legal guidance notes. Create a frictionless contracting process that ensures consistency and efficiency across the sales cycle.
- Empower the Business – Design and deliver practical training to Revenue and Bid teams on contracting rules of engagement, deal hygiene and regulatory risk, enabling faster, confident deal execution.
- Global Advisory – Provide pragmatic, business‐focused advice on matters including data privacy (GDPR and international frameworks), intellectual property strategy, and supplier contracts (software licensing, cloud hosting).
- International Engagement – Operate as part of a global deal team, travelling internationally as required to support high‐value strategic negotiations in person.
About You Ideally you bring:
- Qualified Solicitor – Qualified in England and Wales.
- Deep SaaS Experience – 5–8 years PQE, primarily in‐house at a high‐growth technology company or in the commercial/TMT department of a leading law firm.
- Tech Sector Expertise – Mastery of commercial contracts for software and infrastructure, with deep knowledge of IP licensing, cloud hosting nuances and liability caps in a SaaS context.
- Global Mindset – Proven track record of drafting and negotiating contracts that span multiple international jurisdictions (EMEA, North America, APAC).
- Commercial Acumen – Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable business advice, balancing protection and commercial acceleration.
