As an Analytics Engineer Lead, you'll set the gold standard for our data practices at Kaluza. You'll be the architect responsible for making our data scalable, reliable, and built on modern best practices — driving the strategy behind our data models and bridging the gap between high-level business goals and technical reality.

You'll define and enforce engineering best practices (CI/CD, modularity) across the data organisation, develop advanced modelling solutions for complex scenarios, and research and implement modern data stack tooling. You'll own the long-term vision for data modelling, design and implement data governance frameworks, and act as lead responder for GDPR-related incidents. Working cross-functionally, you'll partner with Product to shape the Analytics Engineering Roadmap, translate complex business needs into technical requirements, and champion a data-driven culture across Kaluza.

About You

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and dbt, with a strong focus on writing clean, reusable, and testable code
  • Mastery of dimensional data modelling and the ability to develop solutions for highly complex scenarios
  • Proven ability to drive adoption of new standards, patterns, and tools across multiple teams without direct authority
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior business leaders
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to extract core requirements and identify the source of truth in complex, cross-functional environments
  • A deep, end-to-end understanding of the data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation through to consumption

What will set you apart

  • Experience owning and driving a long-term data modelling strategy, not just contributing to one
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks
  • Experience acting as a lead responder for GDPR or data privacy incidents
  • A track record of leading rapid proof of concepts to validate new technologies or approaches
  • Experience contributing to broader data org strategy and influencing data culture at an organisational level
