- Blending and packing of Kalsec products using a recipe, picking ingredients and accurately logging their usage.
- Ensure all line start-ups, cleaning schedules and all other necessary paperwork for each area are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure that established standards of GMP, food safety and food quality are met.
- Ensure maintenance, equipment breakdowns and non-conformances are logged and reported to Production Manager, Facilities Coordinator or QA Manager.
- Ensure adherence of the Kalsec Europe’s Health & Safety procedures and policies.
- Support with daily huddles with the production team to communicate priorities, changes, and the production plan.
- Lead by example the adherence to established standards and procedures. Ensure Finishing and Material Handling staff adhere to the expected standards and procedures.
- Assist Production Manager to ensure manufacturing team are kept up to date on all areas of training and appropriate records maintained.
- Lead collaboration with the Finishing and Material Handling team and the Production Manager to Identify any opportunities for key areas to improve and implement any agreed system changes.
- Assist with on-boarding new operatives within the team.
- Act as deputy to the Production Manager during their absence.
- Support with any investigations related to non-conformances, incidents or health and safety issues.
- Administration support to the Production Manager, including daily schedules, supervisor approvals and making sure relevant paperwork is available to the team.
- Support with BRCGS activities, such as new equipment approvals, training records.
- This role is a 50/50 split between hands on activities and supervising/administrative tasks.

This position requires completing annual training for Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, Food Defense and Food Safety.
- Additional initial training and annual refresher training will be assigned based on job classification.
Training is conducted through Kalsec, Inc.’s internal training or using external consultants and on-the-job training in each department.
- This position is also required to ensure all people that report up to this position complete initial and annual training related to food safety.
- Assist with implementation of Lean Manufacturing.
- Identify key areas for continuous improvement within the manufacturing process.
- Primarily facility-based
- Occasional travel to external courses and possible visits to head office in the US.
- Contacts with all internal departments, Head Quarters, planning, warehouse, sales team, customers.
