At Kallidus, we prove our client's teams are compliant, skilled, and high-performing. Trusted by over 1,000 organisations worldwide and proud to be a Certified B Corporation, we help organisations escape The Activity Trap: measuring learning by completion rather than real performance change. Our award-winning learning and employee development platform has an intentional AI data layer to make learning, skills, and performance data valuable for the whole business. This helps link L&D initiatives to the goals and objectives of entire organisations and their teams. Our mission is to be the first company to measurably close the development gap, upskilling and reskilling over 100 million people worldwide.

We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer who writes code, not just test cases. You'll build automated tests in C# on our in-house .NET test framework, write behaviour-driven development (BDD) scenarios in Gherkin, and work inside the codebase alongside developers on unit tests as well as end-to-end coverage. You'll own quality across the whole test pyramid, from unit level up to the user interface, so defects are caught long before they reach our customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Write and maintain automated tests in C# using our custom .NET test framework
  • Write unit tests alongside developers, not only end-to-end tests
  • Turn requirements into behaviour-driven scenarios in Gherkin and automate them with Cucumber
  • Build and run automated user interface, API and functional tests for our web applications
  • Plan test strategy with development and product teams, and design test plans and cases
  • Maintain and improve our continuous integration (CI) pipelines so tests run reliably on every change
  • Investigate failures, troubleshoot issues in systems under test, and work with developers on fixes
  • Document test results and defects clearly
  • Run post-release testing
  • Use AI tools to speed up your work and improve code and documentation, while critically reviewing what they produce

What you’ll need:

Essential:

  • Experience in a QA Automation or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role
  • Strong, hands-on C# and .NET; you're comfortable working in a production codebase
  • Experience writing unit tests (for example xUnit, NUnit or MSTest), not only end-to-end tests
  • Hands-on experience with Cucumber and/or Gherkin
  • Experience testing web applications, including user interface and API testing
  • Experience with continuous integration pipelines (for example Jenkins or Azure DevOps) and Git
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • An analytical mind and a keen eye for detail

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and microservices architecture
  • Experience with SpecFlow or Reqnroll
  • Exposure to security or penetration testing
  • Experience supporting applications in production

What we offer:

  • 27 days of annual leave
  • Private health insurance
  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Full tech setup
  • Birthday Off
  • Volunteering Day
  • Support for your ongoing growth & development
  • Enhanced Family Leave
  • Flexible, hybrid approach to work
  • Annual Company party

Our commitment to inclusion: Our people are the heart of our success, and diversity is what drives that. Kallidus positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, region or belief, marital status, pregnancy or maternity. Kallidus is a supportive, caring, and enjoyable working environment for all our people, and we are committed to furthering the diversity of our teams. Diversity brings innovation and creativity through different views, backgrounds, and opinions; as a people-first organisation, it's crucial that our teams reflect global diversity. We also believe in supporting a healthy work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements from day one. Whether it’s working from home, part-time or compressed hours, we’re committing to finding solutions that meet both your personal needs and our business objectives. How to prepare for a job interview at Kallidus

✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Kallidus uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

✨Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
