Are you a passionate and experienced cook looking for a rewarding role in a child care environment? Are you creative and organised, and would like to work in an environment that values your ideas? We are looking for a part-time nursery cook to provide a range of varied and nutritional meals and snacks for up to 30 children aged 3 months - 11 years. Experience and knowledge for meeting young children's dietary needs is desirable.

You will be responsible for creating balanced menus, ordering, stock rotation, storage and the cleanliness of our kitchen. You must be reliable and hardworking, with a good sense of humour, have the ability to work to a deadline and be of a friendly adaptable nature as interaction with the children will be necessary. A DBS check will be required along with a Level 2 food hygiene certificate (training can be provided). The hours of work are Mon - Fri 8.00am - 1.00pm (25 hours per week). Hours can be adapted for the right person.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and preparing nutritious menus suited to young children
  • Cooking and baking fresh meals and snacks every day
  • Managing allergies, dietary requirements and portion sizes
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Ordering and organising stock efficiently
  • Working closely with management to support children's individual needs
