This role will cover Chester Road in Stretford and Dumbell House in Swinton, applicants must be able to work at both sites

Kaleidoscope Assessment Services currently have three family assessment centres, Chester Road, Finsley House and Dumbell House. They accommodate parents with their children for a 13 week parenting assessment which assesses their parenting capacity.

Throughout their assessment we will offer guidance, support and advice to assist them with their parenting and develop their knowledge and skills.

Job Purpose

· To work as part of a team in a residential based setting; the families have their own self contained flat’s which are observed via CCTV.

. Provide detailed, objective, evidence based recordings.

· To observe and record the nature of the interactions between the family and their child/ren. To acknowledge and discuss external factors and environmental factors as they are key in helping produce assessment reports and to make recommendations to the Local Authority on future planning.

· To provide appropriate advice and guidance to families in accordance with their individual programmes, individual needs and NHS Guidelines.

· To work in partnership with colleagues and outside services such as the local authority, midwives, health visitors and any other requested support services for the families.

· To provide intensive, high quality and dependable standard of service which meets our organisations codes of practice, values, standards and statement of purpose.

Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Work force / Health and Social Care is desirable

  • Previous experience working with children is required

  • Ability to communicate effectively with children of different ages and backgrounds

  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with families

  • Ability to establish boundaries and maintain confidentiality
