Our client is a leading global first tier automotive supplier with an extensive UK footprint. At the forefront of technology and NPD, it supplies to all of the major OEMs across the globe. We are currently working closely with its site in Yorkshire which is investing heavily in both its site and its people, as part of a business-wide improvement programme, and as a result it has created a number of new roles.

My client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Quality Engineer who can become a strong influence within the Quality function. Reporting directly into the Head of Quality, the Senior Quality Engineer will have a great opportunity to showcase their talent and progress their career within a highly successful automotive business. We are looking for the second-in-command and successor to the Head of Quality.

  • Working within the requirements of IATF16949
  • Managing the containment activity and disposition of products/materials
  • Supporting project activities as required
  • Compiling PPAP documentation from data provided against customer specific requirements (documentation and timing)
  • Monitoring and analysing production quality performance
  • Managing customer concerns and the correction of faults through root cause analysis using cross functional team activity
  • Managing supplier concerns log and reporting of related activity to management
  • Process improvement projects within milestones and budgets
  • To support FMEA and improvement teams
  • To maintain and update control plans in line with FMEA and corrective action activity
  • To be the lead on-site internal-auditor

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Background in a first or second tier Automotive environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality systems with particular focus on IATF16949
  • Six Sigma and/or lean deployment experience will be highly advantageous
  • The ability to communicate confidently both internally and in liaison with demanding OEM customers
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams
  • Significant exposure to a “change environment” and conversant with managing and supporting people through change

The successful candidate will possess an aptitude and desire for professional development in line with the above requirements.
