As a Registered Practical Nurse with WeeCare, you will do more than deliver care according to a care plan. You will provide reassurance, comfort, and consistency, becoming a trusted and valued extension of the client and family.

Position: Part-time Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse in Cambridge, ON.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 16:00–21:00
  • Friday: 18:00–21:00
  • Occasional weekend shifts between 08:00–17:00

Please note: If you cannot commit to the weekly schedule, we will not be able to accept your application.

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs):

  • Provide G/GJ tube care and management
  • Provide seizure care and management
  • Administer and document medications as prescribed, following CNO medication administration standards
  • Monitor and maintain the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics
  • Maintain child’s records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
  • Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
  • Observe and report on changes in child’s condition to guardian and WeeCare
  • Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids
  • Demonstrate understanding of child’s needs and maximize abilities
  • Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child/parent/guardian
  • Respond to child/parent/guardian concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including child’s equipment and belongings
  • Notify supervisor of any concerns impacting child’s safety, incidents, and accidents
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Seizure experience
  • Experience working with pediatric clients
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
  • Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
