We are supporting a well-established and highly respected packaging manufacturer in the search for a Technical Operations Manager to join their growing leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operational leader with strong technical Flexographic Print knowledge to play a key role within a fast-paced print and conversion manufacturing environment.
The Opportunity
This role combines operational leadership with technical print expertise and is ideally suited to someone who enjoys coaching teams, improving processes, and driving technical excellence across a manufacturing site. The business specialises in printed flexible packaging solutions across film and paper substrates, supplying high-quality packaging into a range of sectors. The site currently employs approximately 65 people. This position will provide the overall operational leadership, technical direction, and strategic coordination across the site including across production, print, conversion, engineering, and warehouse operations.
A key focus of the role will be leading technical print projects from feasibility through to implementation, ensuring successful delivery of new opportunities, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development across Production, Engineering, Print, Conversion, and Warehouse functions
- Lead and coordinate technical print projects from concept through to implementation
- Support operational performance through strong delegation, mentoring, and team development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess project feasibility and technical capability
- Ensure operational standards, quality, and efficiency targets are achieved
- Develop strong communication and accountability across departmental teams
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture across the site
About You
We are looking for a technically strong and people-focused manufacturing professional with a hands-on leadership style. Ideally, you will have:
- Strong experience within Flexographic Print, specifically on film and/or paper substrates
- Previous operational management or production leadership experience within packaging or print manufacturing
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams within a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical understanding of print processes and project implementation
- Excellent organisational, communication, and delegation skills
- Experience managing cross-functional teams indirectly through department leaders
- Reprographics experience would be advantageous, although not essential
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a passion for operational excellence
