Job Title: Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Southampton Salary: To be discussed & dependent on experience (starting £42K) Working hours: 47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Early shift: 6:00am – 4:00pm or Late shift: 8:00am – 6:00pm, Includes one unpaid 30-minute lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks per shift Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and dedicated multi skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client who is a manufacturing company based in Southampton. This position is integral to ensuring the efficient and uninterrupted operation of production machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and the installation of new parts or equipment, all aimed at improving machine efficiency, reliability, and safety. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain, clean, and repair all production and ancillary equipment * Create and adhere to a planned maintenance schedule * Carry out general site repairs, cleaning, and maintenance * Respond promptly to equipment call-outs and breakdowns * Minimise disruption to production processes * Ensure compliance with BRCGS regulations * Follow all health and safety standards and procedures * Apply both mechanical and electrical expertise in daily tasks Desired Qualifications & Skills: ● Educational Background: ideally a qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or appropriate apprenticeship. ● Certifications: Ideally Certified in 18th Edition Electrical Course or equivalent. ● Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance role ● Technical Knowledge: Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, including motors, drives, gearboxes, pneumatics ● Diagnostic Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic abilities. ● Physical Ability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. ● Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams across departments. ● Safety Knowledge: A solid understanding of health and safety practices, with the ability to implement and enforce safe working practices for personal and team safety. ● Flexibility: Willingness to undertake special assignments and projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
