We are seeking an experienced QHSE & Compliance Manager to lead our quality, compliance, sustainability and safety strategy within a manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining ISO 9001 certification, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing Health & Safety systems, and driving sustainability initiatives including Net Zero and ESG reporting. You will work closely with customers, regulators, auditors and internal teams to ensure the business remains compliant, audit-ready and competitive in customer tenders.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Compliance
- Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and internal audit programme
- Act as Management Representative for ISO 9001 and BBA certification
- Maintain QMS documentation, SOPs and process controls across the business
- EPR & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance, including data collection, reporting and submissions
- Coordinate with scheme providers, auditors and compliance partners
- Maintain compliance records, reporting schedules and regulatory documentation
- Sustainability & Net Zero
- Lead Net Zero reporting and coordinate sustainability data across the organisation
- Support customer sustainability programmes including Manufacture 2030 (M2030)
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste and improve environmental performance
- Health & Safety
- Maintain the Health & Safety management system, including risk assessments, COSHH, machine safety and safe systems of work
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and safety improvement initiatives
- Chair H&S meetings and support a strong safety culture
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary contact for customer compliance and ESG data requests
- Support sales tenders and customer audits with certification and sustainability information
- Manage Sedex platform reporting and supplier audits
What We’re Looking For
- Experience maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Strong Health & Safety management experience within manufacturing
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, sustainability reporting and audit processes
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Ability to lead change, influence teams and drive continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Degree / HNC / HND in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing
