Estimator – Print West Molesey – Surrey Up to £35K DOE Company – Established in 1998 this packaging company specialises in creating beautiful card-based packaging for high end luxury brands such as; Gucci, Mont Blanc and Lancome Overview – This client currently requires an Estimator with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of all areas of carton construction and estimating. An understanding of all the production processes from print to conversion is essential with emphasis on carton design and layout. Roles & Responsibilities of an Estimator: Estimating accurate production costs using current MIS system Tharstern or knowledge of similar systems Liaising with internal departments, from material procurement, design studio, print, die cutting, windowing, gluing to warehouse and despatch Preparing estimates for the commercial manager and account executives Producing estimates within agreed timescales Verify carton and layout with each department for production and cost efficiency Analyse and determine quantity and cost of all raw materials used in manufacturing Assess spoilage/waste of all raw materials, machine make ready time, run speeds, run time, hand work if applied, for all manufacturing processes Obtaining sub-contractor estimates for any external finishing Reviewing prices on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept up to date with changing information Developing procedures for pricing / costing work Manage tenders to achieve strict deadlinesExperience required for an Estimator: Previous experience of Estimating in the Print industry Beneficial to have experience of Tharstern MIS system Good mathematical ability, including good understanding of measurements Proficiency with Microsoft Office products A sense of urgency, to address requests effectively without neglect to details Must be able to understand customer\’s and company specifications and explain technical procedures clearly to others Takes initiative and ownership of projects and tasks Excellent organisational skills including follow-up and accountability Ability to problem solve, think clearly and logically High ethical standard with the ability to work independently Professional customer satisfaction skills needed to maintain positive external and internal relationships Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Must be able to cope with pressure as part of the jobIf you are interested in finding out some more information about this opportunity, please apply to the role today.
