We're recruiting on behalf of a market-leading business specialising in commercial vehicle conversions, fleet solutions and specialist vehicle installations. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to appoint a Senior Mobile Vehicle Electrician to join their expanding field-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial vehicles, installing the latest electrical systems for customers across Leeds, Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
The Role
As a Senior Mobile Vehicle Electrician, you’ll work independently, travelling to customer sites to carry out high-quality electrical installations, diagnostics and repairs. You’ll be recognised as one of the technical experts within the team, supporting customers and colleagues with your knowledge while delivering first-class workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install vehicle electrical systems including beacons, telematics, cameras, trackers, lighting, reverse sensors and other specialist vehicle accessories
- Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnostics, wiring, soldering and repairs
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Travel to customer sites throughout Leeds, Yorkshire and surrounding areas, with occasional nationwide travel
- Manage your own diary and workload to ensure projects are completed on time
- Provide technical advice on products, installations and best practices
- Complete job sheets and installation documentation accurately
- Deliver excellent customer service while representing the business professionally
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Electrician, Auto Electrician or Mobile Vehicle Electrician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and fault diagnosis
- Experience installing telematics, beacons, cameras, trackers or similar vehicle equipment
- Confidence using diagnostic equipment and electrical testing tools
- The ability to work independently and solve technical problems on-site
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on commercial vehicles or fleet vehicles
- City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Automotive Engineering or Vehicle Electrical Systems
- Previous experience providing technical guidance or mentoring junior engineers
