Main purpose of the role & responsibilities
As a Platform Solution Architect (Manager), you’ll lead multi-skilled agile teams to design and deliver high-quality solutions on public cloud platforms, delighting customers. You’ll work with customer architects and colleagues to design, automate, build, and support modern digital service platforms, estimate effort, advise on technical decisions, create policies and standards, provide assurance, and mentor others. You’ll continually learn about new technologies and explore their application for customer benefit.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Championing a DevOps culture — leading colleagues to design solutions that meet all non-functional requirements, ensuring project success.
- Championing technology for positive impact — staying updated on latest technologies and advocating their use.
- Developing Kainos as a business — contributing to technology strategy and identifying new opportunities.
- Providing leadership — offering technical guidance across projects, making tough decisions when needed.
- Being opinionated — sharing your views to improve solution quality and proactively sharing knowledge.
- Being a role model — supporting colleagues, embodying Kainos values, and earning trust through transparent decisions.
- Putting people first & developing others — managing, coaching, and developing senior staff.
Minimum (essential) Requirements
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong prioritization and time management across multiple projects.
- Proven team leadership and fostering a DevOps culture.
- Experience managing and developing senior team members.
- Ownership of delivering digital service platforms, considering non-functional concerns, and making effective decisions.
- Expertise in multiple public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), solution architecture, and continuous delivery techniques.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, cloud-native tooling, and developing business within accounts.
Desirable
- Related degree or equivalent qualification.
- Certifications in AWS/Azure or other professional bodies (CNCF).
- Active sharing of thoughts on technology.
- Proficiency in automation tools like Powershell, Bash, Python, etc.
