MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:

As a Palantir Data Consultant in Kainos, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team has a good understanding of business needs so that our customer data solutions meet the needs of them and their users. You will be responsible for articulating problems and processes in ways understood by all stakeholders - both business and technical, and for facilitating the analysis and design of data solutions that impact users worldwide. You will be comfortable directing teams, encouraging engagement and discussion. You will plan and run workshops, engaging with a variety of stakeholders to facilitate consensus in areas of uncertainty.

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive experience of business analysis in data-intensive technical environments such as Data Platforms and Big Data, involved from analysis through to acceptance, launch and live operations.
  • Understanding of how data requirements support business requirements.
  • Broad business and technology understanding of Data & AI landscape and a proven awareness of industry trends.
  • Excellent facilitator of workshops, able to lead stakeholder groups to achieve focused outcomes.
  • Accomplished at modelling as-is and to-be business processes and data management processes, able to present these to stakeholders and the team to ensure understanding and to achieve buy-in.
  • Excellent user story creation skills, articulating the business needs in a format that is easily consumable by teams and customers.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, comfortable challenging decisions when appropriate and tailoring collaboration and communication styles where necessary.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering as part of an agile team.
  • Responsible for the breakdown of an area of work from inception through to delivery, managing the teams backlog ensuring quality and maturity.
  • Responsible for the elicitation of functional, technical and non-functional requirements, translating these into user stories so they are easily understood across the whole team.
  • Proven ability to manage scope to meet the required MVP, ensuring value is delivered.
  • Good commercial awareness, always delivering within project constraints.
  • Able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in a client/supplier relationship, sensitive to their needs.
  • Experience contributing to sales activities (e.g. working on bids, writing sales proposals etc.)
  • Proven ability of strong team skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

DESIRABLE:

  • Domain experience such as Financial Services or Insurance.
  • Experience of working on client site, delivering high quality digital products.
  • Experience designing AI/ML products.
  • A demonstrated ability in managing, mentoring and coaching members of your team and wider community.
  • Active participant in communities of interest (e.g. online groups, speaking at conferences etc).
