As a User Researcher Lead (Manager) at Kainos:

  • You are responsible for delivering and assuring actionable insights that help define the right service experiences and focus them on user needs.
  • You are an expert practitioner able to both oversee and lead teams as well as delivering high quality research yourself.
  • You shape and lead user-centred design teams to ensure delivery of our contracted deliverables while adhering to relevant standards e.g. GDS & NHS Service Standards.
  • You are an advocate for needs-based design, design thinking and service design, and are passionate about coaching others in design research.
  • You manage, coach and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on managing performance and assisting in their career development.

Requirements:

  • Can lead, plan, develop, and conduct research activities, ensuring the right methods are applied across the Agile development lifecycle.
  • Expert knowledge and application of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Oversees and runs programmes of research across multiple teams and projects.
  • Has experience defining and being responsible for research processes and strategy within an organisation.
  • Is an expert facilitator, designing and delivering workshops across a project lifecycle.
  • Able to communicate and influence effectively at all levels, driving action and impact based on user insight.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Broad understanding of user‐centred design principles and practices with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with the other disciplines.
  • A demonstrated ability in managing, coaching and developing senior staff.
  • Regularly shares experiences, learnings and impact of work contributing to the wider user research community.
