MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:
As a Senior Test Engineer (Senior Associate) in Kainos, you’ll work within a multi-skilled agile team, developing and executing functional automated and manual tests to help the team deliver working application software that meets user needs. You’ll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with talented colleagues who will help you learn, develop and grow.
MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven ability to learn a new business domain or architecture quickly and provide an excellent client experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical detail to non-technical audiences.
- Able to create, edit and manage the execution of automated tests covering both front and back-end, created in a coding language/tool (one of the following Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured).
- Demonstrable experience of using cloud architecture & being part of an Agile (Kanban, Scrum etc) team.
- Experience working in Continuous Integration environment and using tools such as Jenkins and/or TeamCity and Experience with version control systems such as Git/SVN.
- Experience of the fundamental concepts of Testing and Quality Assurance and demonstrable experience of improving the testing process.
- Knowledge or experience of at least one type of Non-functional testing.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience using cloud-based testing platforms such as Browserstack or Saucelabs.
- Experience producing Assurance artefacts such as Test Plans, reports and/or Metrics.
- Experience testing APIs, microservices, databases and using SQL.
