Fantastic opportunity to lead high performing teams based in Nelson. Lead and support a team to translate the strategic vision and seek out new and innovative ways to be responsive to the changing needs of our customers living in the region. Permanent role + 5 weeks' annual leave and insurance benefits.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to lead and manage a dynamic team as Manager Housing and Wellbeing Support, dedicated to providing high quality support to our public housing customers and whanau living in our properties. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the operational delivery of services, develop strategic plans, and guide a high-performing team to achieve our mission of improving the wellbeing of our customers.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in building and leading high performing teams in a service delivery environment, a high degree of cultural awareness, and problem solving skills to identify root cause and influence change. You will lead engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, including service providers, government agencies and community groups to build strong collaborative relationships to enable delivery of effective support to our public housing customers.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in building, leading, and coaching high performing teams, and managing service delivery operations with an agency, social work services or comparable organisation.
  • Cultural awareness to align approach to our customers' aspirations and preferences, particularly in working with Māori and Pasifika.
  • Experience working with different cultures and/or community groups.
  • Strategic leadership to align organisation's values, objectives and public housing customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in health and safety, and risk mitigation and management to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people.
  • Strong understanding of guiding, navigating and leading teams through change.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills including high level reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty and application of the Treaty principles in strategic and business planning.

As this role requires travelling across the immediate region, you will have a current and full NZ driver's license (pool vehicle provided).
