We’re seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Leader to help develop mission-led commercial activity that strengthens Kainé’s financial resilience and supports community cohesion in Leicester.

What difference will you make? By strengthening earned income, you’ll help Kainé become more resilient, flexible and less dependent on short-term grant funding. Your work will:

  • Support long-term financial sustainability
  • Enable reinvestment into free and subsidised community programmes
  • Help fund infrastructure and capacity needed for growth
  • Allow Kainé to respond more quickly to community needs

This role has a direct impact on our ability to plan confidently for the future and expand our reach across Leicester.

What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone with experience in business development, social enterprise, commercial strategy or revenue generation. You should be comfortable balancing financial goals with social purpose. Experience in events, hospitality, sales or marketing is helpful, as is experience launching new services or income streams. An understanding of community, arts or education settings would be a bonus. You should be collaborative, values-driven and excited by the challenge of building income that genuinely supports social impact.

What will you be doing? As Kainé grows, earned income will play an increasingly important role in supporting our long-term sustainability, including our plans for the future Kainé Centre. Our Board is now seeking an Earned Income Trustee to help identify, shape and oversee new income-generating opportunities that align with our values and community mission. This includes exploring opportunities across events, training, partnerships and other creative or commercial activity. You’ll work closely with the Finance and Operations Committees, as well as staff and community partners, to assess ideas, set realistic targets and ensure commercial activity supports - rather than distracts from - our charitable purpose. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys innovation, problem-solving and turning ideas into structured plans, while keeping a strong ethical and community focus.
