Public Desire x Kaiia The Label is based in Manchester UK.
We are looking for an experienced and talented multi product Womenswear Designer to join our team at our Manchester HQ. Working closely with the buying, merchandising, and marketing team you will be required to contribute towards a high-quality product range with the use of trend forecasting, social media awareness, customer profiling with strong commercial design capabilities. You will be working in an exciting, fast paced environment delivering trend led ranges to tight deadlines according to a critical path, so good time keeping skills are essential.
You will be:
Sourcing and selecting fabrics, trims, fastenings, embellishments, fabric and print techniques
Collaborating closely with the Design Manager and Head of Buying to deliver monthly drops.
Working across our Kaiia jersey ranges as well as our woven based multi-product trends for Wholesale Partners.
Analysing sales and maximising best sellers to drive company profit.
Developing commercially viable ranges alongside the buying team to deliver high quality product to our customer base at a competitive price point.
Liaising closely with our extensive supplier base to ensure our product is developed to the highest quality standard and detail within a time frame according to the critical path
Taking ideas from initial concept through to CAD stage and creating highly detailed tech packs to send to production ensuring premium quality first samples from our suppliers.
Fitting products weekly with our Garment Technician to ensure a high fitting standard across our ranges.
Attending photoshoots where required to help with styling and capturing ecomm imagery.
Range building to create cohesive, commercial product collections with the Design Manager and Head of Buying.
Showing initiative by expanding on our existing offering through designing into new product categories.
Requirements:
An understanding of Kaiia the label\’s brand identity, vision and customer base
Experience of 3+ years in womenswear / fashion design ideally across multi product categories
Degree in a fashion-related field
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
Experience designing graphics and branding
A comprehensive understanding of fabrics and techniques
Highly organised
A creative thinker and problem solver
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to seek out and reinterpret emerging trends
Ability to work under pressure with quick turnarounds and tight deadlines
A great knowledge of fashion-forward celebrities and influencers
A positive attitude and a passionate team player
