Kai Mayfair is a long-standing, independent restaurant in the heart of Mayfair, with 31 years of excellence and a Michelin Star held from 2009 to 2024. We were named Best Chinese Restaurant in the UK by The Sunday Times and ranked among the Top 10 restaurants in London for food. Our cuisine, Liberated Chinese, honours heritage while continually evolving.

We are seeking a Floor Manager with calm authority, sharp instincts, and the ability to hold the room with precision. This role is for someone who understands that great service is not controlled through pressure, but guided through presence, timing, and clarity. You will support the senior management team in leading the floor, protecting the rhythm of service, and ensuring every guest experience feels seamless, considered, and unmistakably cared for. This is not a role for someone who simply watches the room. It is for someone who can read it, move it, and elevate it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the floor during service with confidence, composure, and clear direction.
  • Support the Restaurant Manager and senior team in maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Guide, motivate, and develop the FOH team with structure, warmth, and accountability.
  • Ensure guest experiences are handled with elegance, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
  • Oversee table flow, pacing, reservations, guest requests, and service timing.
  • Communicate clearly between FOH, kitchen, bar, and management to maintain impeccable rhythm.
  • Handle pressure, feedback, and guest recovery with maturity and grace.
  • Protect the atmosphere of the dining room ensuring it feels polished, calm, and alive.
  • Lead by example in grooming, presence, product knowledge, and attention to detail.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A natural floor leader grounded, observant, and steady under pressure.
  • Ideally 1+ years experience in a supervisory or management role within fine dining, luxury hospitality, or a Michelin-level environment.
  • Strong understanding of floor management, guest flow, table pacing, and team coordination.
  • Confidence leading a team without ego firm when needed, supportive always.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to shift tone depending on the room, the guest, and the team.
  • Emotional maturity able to hold tension, give feedback cleanly, and recalibrate quickly mid-service.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, detail, and creating experiences that stay with people.

If hospitality, for you, is the craft of making every guest feel unmistakably special, we’d love to meet you. Apply now and bring your presence to one of Mayfair's finest restaurants.
