K.A.G. Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a premier client in Burton on Trent who are on the lookout for an Engineering Team Leader for their growing team. As an integral member of the Engineering Team, you will ensure the best performance and dependability of Manufacturing equipment, contributing to both safety and efficiency across all site assets.
Your mission is to combine hands-on Maintenance expertise, in-depth equipment knowledge, and robust communication skills to ensure the reliability and availability of all site assets. You will be at the forefront of improving plant performance and fostering a culture of professional engineering and proactive improvement.
What You'll Do:
- Act as a role model to support, coach and motivate your reports to achieve production targets.
- Maximise Engineer utilisation across all departments during your shift.
- Ensure detailed, effective handovers and continuous communication between shifts.
- Train engineering staff on site machinery and equipment.
- Flexible working to set up, changeover, operate machinery, other equipment and tools across all departments as required within standard operating procedures to achieve required outputs and quality.
- Carry out a range of manual tasks and activities across all departments and ensure all tasks are finished within permitted time frames.
- Completion of PPM's across all departments adhering to schedules, KPI's and CMMS.
- Complete daily engineering work reports and record work using the required format to ensure it is entered onto the CMMS.
- Ensure accurate recording of engineering downtime and Root Cause Analysis detail then implement RCA findings to prevent repeat issues.
- Actively identify areas of improvement, actively assist the implementation of any improvements.
- Work with the engineering team to record, develop and implement maintenance best practices to maximise plant reliability.
- Perform engineering functions and drive cost saving opportunities concerning site utilities.
Who You Are:
- An Engineer with hands-on experience, ideally within the Food Manufacturing sector, supported by qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical fields (BTEC or similar).
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving a variety of equipment issues, with a broad knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical and Electrical.
- A staunch advocate for safety, experienced in risk assessment and managing safe working practices, particularly with high-hazard equipment.
- An outstanding communicator who can prioritise effectively in fast-paced environments and elevate the technical skills of others.
