K.A.G. Recruitment is partnering exclusively with our client based in Wrexham to find an exceptional Engineering Team Leader on a 6 month FTC basis.
You will lead and support an engineering team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for delivering effective planned and reactive maintenance, maintaining high engineering standards and ensuring the continued reliability of plant and equipment. You will lead by example, develop your team and work closely with Production and other departments to drive safety, food quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
Your Role:
- Lead, coach and develop the engineering shift team, ensuring effective resource and workload management.
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to maximise plant availability and minimise downtime.
- Fault-find and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, identifying and resolving root causes.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, food safety, hygiene and environmental standards.
- Monitor engineering KPIs and drive improvements in performance, reliability and efficiency.
- Support engineering projects, continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
- Manage team performance, training, holidays and absence.
- Ensure effective use of the CMMS and maintenance systems.
- Work closely with Production and key stakeholders to prioritise engineering requirements.
- Promote a strong safety and continuous improvement culture across the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Recognised Engineering qualifications with strong electrical or multi-skilled engineering background.
- Proven experience fault-finding across both electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or managing an engineering team.
- Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities with the ability to work under pressure and make quick, effective decisions.
- Knowledge of CMMS, legal compliance and food manufacturing standards would be advantageous.
- Flexible approach to shift cover and busy periods.
