K.A.G. Recruitment is proud to be exclusively partnering with our client, a leading food manufacturing company, to recruit a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team based in Armthorpe, Doncaster.
Salary: Competitive
Location: Armthorpe, Doncaster
Hours of Work:
- Week 1: Monday-Friday 06:00-14:30
- Week 2: Sunday-Thursday 10:30-19:00
Reporting to: Engineering Management
As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be the technical specialist on site reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. You will provide electrical expertise to support production, continuous improvement and site compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical maintenance activities across the site, including a balanced mix of reactive troubleshooting and planned preventative maintenance.
- Provide expert fault-finding and breakdown response on electrical systems, automation equipment, and production machinery.
- Basic work with PLC‑based control systems.
- Deliver and support key electrical projects, including upgrades, new equipment installations, and reliability improvements.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical standards, health & safety legislation, and food industry requirements.
- Mentor technicians and apprentices, providing technical guidance and supporting skill development.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience:
You will be experienced within the field of FMCG or Food Manufacturing Maintenance and ideally have completed a HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in Engineering. You will have a strong background in fault finding techniques and PLC Systems with proven ability in diagnosing electrical faults on motors, sensors, control panels, safety systems and power distribution. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make safe, effective decisions under time pressure would also be highly advantageous along with the ability to work alone or as part of the wider team.
