K.A.G. Recruitment are partnering with our client, a leading food manufacturing company, in their search for a Site Services Engineer. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be a key member of the team ensuring the production facility is kept running.

Location: Wrexham

Salary: £45,000 DOE

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7am to 4.30 pm, flexible on this - also option to work a Flexible 5 over 7 working day contract.

Purpose of the role: As the Site Services Engineer, you will possess a strong technical knowledge and be seen as the site expert within the site services team. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment efficiency and minimising downtime. Through preparation, communication and delivery of a facility maintenance plan, you will ensure sufficient plant and resources are efficiently utilised, resulting in non-productive assets and infrastructure that is always ready for the site's operations. Specifically, you will develop the role to deliver a site services function to suit the needs of the business and cover various cross-functional aspects of planning across site, stores, plant and people for any engineering-related work streams including site projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of prioritised planned or unplanned activities on time to support operational requirements whilst ensuring people, bird and food safety is maintained and take appropriate action to resolve and/or escalate where necessary.
  • Care for all site buildings and facilities through the effective use and interaction with the CMMS (computerised maintenance management system), stores and administration functions to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Develop and use problem-solving and work task techniques to prevent repeat damage and GMP area abnormalities.
  • Lead by example in your engineering position, working in a safe manner whilst adhering to and promoting all company policies.
  • Work in line with our culture of continuous improvement - report any shortcomings in systems of work or procedures to the engineering manager including any improvements & solutions.
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure effective GMP standards whilst promoting teamwork.
  • Interpret handover reports to identify site services or infrastructure continuous improvements.
  • Support the engineering planner to analyse site utility performance data for areas of reductions.

Experience: You will be an effective communicator and will provide flexible support across the operation. The role is aimed at applying knowledge and skills to deal with situations and identify and influence the long-term issues in order to drive continuous improvement. You will have a broad Engineering background with experience of Manufacturing/FMCG supported by a strong level of Electrical and Mechanical technical skillset and relevant qualifications e.g. NVQ3. Experience in facility maintenance activities and controlling safe working practices including statutory compliance needs. Knowledge of PPM's and proficient use of CMMS software and related transferable skills along with knowledge of various site services including HVAC, electrical and mechanical services.
