K.A.G. Recruitment Consultancy are delighted to be partnering exclusively with our client, a leading Food Manufacturer, in their search for an Environmental Officer to join their company based in Wrexham.
Role: Environmental OfficerSalary: £40,000Location: WrexhamHours: Monday to Friday - 08.00 - 16.30 - (Occasional travel required in the West Midlands to our sister company)Purpose of the role: You will be responsible for overseeing the Environmental Performance of the site, ensuring that the treatment plant is operating efficiently and effectively whilst ensuring compliance with the Environmental Permit and that reporting deadlines are met.
Duties:
Supporting and delivering a sustainability plan for the site and monitoring environmental performance against Permit requirements and Environmental LegislationAudit, analyse and report on environmental performance ( ISO 14001 to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies as required such as NRW, local authorities and public bodiesTo manage the sites Climate Change Agreement (CCA) data and ensure the annual claim is submittedResponsible for process change management procedures to ensure site compliance in line with NRW permit conditionsCoordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energyPromote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issuesImplement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical, and social responsibility and address any issues arisingPrepare reports for the company, environmental agencies, and government bodies.
Carry out and submit all weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual reports and paperwork in accordance with company standard,Develop and implement environmental management systems. Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to management and regulatory bodies.
Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issuesImplement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical, and social responsibility and address any issues arisingPreparing reports for the company, environmental agencies, and government bodies.
Support occupational health and the HR team on wellbeing initiativesDevelop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of the organisation on the environmentAssist in providing a structured programme of Environmental training throughout the CompanyYou will have previous experience working within a Food Manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG and exposure to Lean Manufacturing or CI techniques with relevant qualifications in this remit.
You will be an excellent communicator who can demonstrate initiative, self-drive, and possess excellent attention to detail, with a passion for excellence in environmental procedures and structureKnowledge of working with ISO 14001 system or other compliance systems such as ISO 45001 or 50001 would be highly advantageous along with IEMA QualificationsIf you are seeking an opportunity where you can make a difference and have real input from day one, then we would love to hear from you!
