We are looking for an Access Project manager to join our team at Devonport on a permanent basis.
In this role you will be accountable for providing professional technical leadership of all access and containment works covered by KAEFER UK&I within projects at Devonport dockyard.
You will have overall accountability of the technical management within the access and containment discipline.
- How You Will Make An Impact
- Reviewing tender documentation for own specialism, coordinating with the other discipline Project Managers and Commercial team
- Coordination of site surveys liaising with the client, Various KAEFER management and Commercial team
- Supporting the commercial function with the preparation of quotes and tenders preparation, with specific knowledge focus of the divisional requirements
- Resolving technical issues in collaboration with Project & Package Managers, providing guidance with equipment and resource
- Developing compliance sheets and corresponding RAMS
- Planning and monitoring access and containment equipment inventory (asset register)
- Keeping updated on all new legislation and HSE guidelines and ensure that any safety legislation is cascaded down through the workforce
- Ensuring that all employees are aware of the high safety standards that are required by KAEFER and the client with regards to working on site
- Liaising with Project Managers, other members of the KAEFER team, and the client to co-ordinate labour resources to match work scope and budget
- Scaffold Division Training Matrix – the maintenance of competency and capability of staff (Succession Planning) coordinating updates with HSE Coordinator
- Instructing and guiding employees relative to the safe use of tools, materials, and equipment as necessary, to prepare and carry out work packages as required
- Induction process (entry onto site) for all new scaffold staff joiners liaising with HR, Training, and Stores Department
- All governance and HSE requirements are met
- What You Will Bring
- In-depth knowledge of scaffolding regulations, codes of practice, and statutory requirements (e. g. NASC TG20, SG4, and Work at Height Regulations)
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to scaffolding and temporary access
- Knowledge of Industrial Services industry, Warship & Submarine platforms and Devonport dockyard (desirable)
- Experience in a Leadership and Management role
- Experience of managing conflict
- Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures
- Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
- Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development
- Experience of working within Industrial Services sector or Marine industry
- ILM – Leadership and Management Certification (or equivalent) (desirable)
- DBS check and security clearance
- Flexibility to work outside of contracted hours
