KAEFER UK&I are looking to recruit a Thermal Insulation Apprentice based in South Wales. This is a great opportunity for someone aged 18+ looking to start a career in the Thermal Insulation industry, working across major industrial sites in the South West region.

As a Thermal Insulation Apprentice, you will be responsible for aiding the insulation team in carrying out insulation duties, ensuring the company’s insulation operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner in line with our client requirements, to gain an industry recognised qualification.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • As a KAEFER Thermal Insulation apprentice you will be required to attend college in 2-week block intervals whilst gaining Level 2 with the option to proceed to Level 3 Apprentice standard for Commercial Thermal Insulation Technician, which includes Functional Skills L2 In Maths and English if L4 GCSE’s not gained, Employer Rights and Responsibilities, PASMA and Asbestos Awareness.
  • Applying insulation materials
  • Applying sheet metal and various finishes to pipework and ductwork
  • Fabricating cladding materials
  • Identification of risks

  • Due to site HSE requirements you must be 18 or over
  • Full driving licence is essential
  • Ideally you will be based within 20 miles of Barry
  • You will be adaptable to change and show resilience in your ability to deal with any challenges that may arise.
  • You will have enthusiasm, reliability, willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team are key.
  • You will show proactive thinking with the ability to identify resources and solutions when faced with a challenge would be beneficial
  • Being organised and meticulous with the ability to demonstrate effective prioritisation and time-management skills would be an advantage
