The Opportunity

Location: Nuclear & Defence Region based in Hinkley Point C with travel to Plymouth.

We are seeking a Regional People Advisor to join our Nuclear & Defence Team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The role will be based between the Hinkley Point C site office and Devonport, Plymouth, providing generalist employee relations support to staff and delivering guidance and assistance to the management team.

  • How You Will Make An Impact
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR matters, including employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance management, ensuring all associated documentation and records are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Support managers in investigations and the just & fair resolution of employee concerns, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and practices are consistently applied and aligned with legislation.
  • Contribute to the regional People Plan and processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate People records and documentation in line with GDPR and company standards.
  • Support the embedding of performance management processes, guiding managers with goal‑setting, annual reviews and feedback mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with the wider People Team to deliver initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, well‑being and workplace culture.
  • Support People projects focused on the employee experience, process efficiency and system improvements.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities where required, including coordinating hiring processes, advising managers on recruitment best practice and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline People operations and improve service delivery.
  • What You Will Bring
  • Strong knowledge of People practices, employment law and People processes.
  • Proven experience advising managers and handling Employee Relations casework from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy.
  • Good understanding of employee relations, performance & absence management and engagement principles.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment whilst managing multiple priorities.
  • Previous experience as a People/HR Advisor.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or relevant experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
