The Opportunity
We are looking for a Quality Surveillance Inspector to join our team in Jarrow on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Quality Manager this role has a hybrid approach working within our Jarrow Fabrication business setting in Jarrow and visiting key sub-suppliers in Wales, Shropshire, Greater Manchester, and Rosyth carrying out surveillance audits to validate compliance with contractual and/or KAEFER requirements
How you will make an impact
- Conduct surveillance auditing of steel manufactured and welded products and associated processes to validate compliance with drawings, specifications etc.
- Witness FAT testing as required
- Endorse records for sample inspections
- Approve the release of finished goods for delivery
- Attend client meetings as required
- Generate audit/observation reports with non-conformance and/or improvement recommendations clearly set out
- Review welding and inspection processes and records, including welding procedures, welder qualifications and surveillance reports.
- Review Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) records including VIS & DPI.
- Participate in continuous improvement of Safety, Quality and LEAN practices at both KAEFER and supplier sites.
- Liaise with 3rd party inspectors as required.
What you will bring
- CSWIP3.1 or similar experience, to undertake welding record and process review (mandatory), current qualification not conditional
- BiNDT PCN or similar Dye Pen experience, to undertake MPI/DPI record and process review (mandatory), current qualification not conditional
- Experience of steel surface treatment process validation for painting, acid cleaning and galvanising processes.
- Lead Auditor Qualification β ISO 9001:2015 for example
- Experience of being a Suitably Qualified & Experienced Person (SQEP) in a related discipline or role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create professional reports and documents

The salary for this role is competitive and comes with the following benefits:
