As a Thermal Insulation Apprentice, you will be responsible for aiding the insulation team in carrying out insulation duties, ensuring the company’s insulation operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner in line with our client requirements, to gain an industry recognised qualification. We have Thermal Insulation Apprentice vacancies at various locations, and you will be asked to state your preference at application stage.
Key Responsibilities
As a KAEFER Thermal Insulation Apprentice you will be required to attend college in 2-week block intervals whilst gaining the L3 Apprentice standard for Commercial Thermal Insulation Technician, which includes Functional Skills L2 In Maths and English if L4 GCSE’s not gained, Employer Rights and Responsibilities, PASMA and Asbestos Awareness. As part of your role you will be:
- Applying insulation materials
- Applying sheet metal and various finishes to pipework and ductwork
- Fabricating cladding materials
- Identifying risks
What you will bring
The successful candidate should be able to communicate according to the situation and articulate themselves appropriately. You should be adaptable to change and resilient in character and able to deal with any challenges that may arise. Enthusiasm, reliability, willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team are key. Proactive thinking with the ability to identify resources and solutions when faced with a challenge would be beneficial. Being organised and meticulous with the ability to demonstrate effective prioritisation and time-management skills would be an advantage.
Apprentices aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training are required to achieve English and Maths qualifications to complete their apprenticeship, if they do not already hold suitable equivalent qualifications. Apprentices who do not already hold a suitable equivalent qualification in either English or Maths or both subjects are funded to achieve up to an approved level 2 qualification in these subjects. Apprentices aged 19+ at the start of their training can also be funded to study up to an approved level 2 qualification in English or Maths or both, if they do not already hold suitable equivalent qualifications and their employer agrees that this should be part of their training plan.
