We are looking for a HSE Apprentice to join our team at Devonport on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management while working alongside experienced professionals on one of the UK’s most complex and highly regulated industrial sites.

As a HSE Apprentice, you will be embedded within our site-based team, gaining hands-on experience while supporting the delivery of high standards in health, safety and environmental performance. You will receive mentoring, training, and real responsibility from day one, helping you develop the skills and knowledge required to build a successful career in HSE.

Working closely with operational teams, supervisors and management, you will support the HSE function by providing timely advice and guidance on matters relating to legislation, company policies and client requirements. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to learn how safety is managed on a major project environment while contributing to the protection of people, the environment and critical operations.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Working collaboratively with site teams and the wider business to support safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safety & Environmental Plans in line with client requirements, SLAs and KPIs.
  • Supporting site management in implementing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Taking part in site inspections, audits and safety observations to help identify improvements and share learning.
  • Contributing to behavioural safety initiatives that promote a positive safety culture across the workforce.
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of safety briefings, training sessions and awareness campaigns for employees and stakeholders.
  • Learning how HSE performance is monitored, reported and continuously improved on a major industrial site.
