We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical/Thermal Test Engineer to join a world leading engineering company specialised in developing products for the pharmaceutical and medical industries.

As part of the Engineering team, the Mechanical Test Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Looking after projects from an initial brief by liaising with customers during the process
  • Qualify bespoke products to customer specifications
  • Carrying out various tests including thermal and structural analysis and simulations
  • Provide technical product support to Customers and colleagues within Sales and other internal departments, recommending appropriate solutions where required.
  • Prepare laboratory tests using approved process, equipment and materials
  • Writing of technical documentation to required standards; to include: Engineering Memos, Qualification Protocols and Reports, Performance Summaries and Assembly Posters.
  • Maintaining documentation using change control system
  • Maintaining the workplace to be of a high level of cleanliness and order
  • Responsible for the calibration of all equipment used for testing and evaluation of the results.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of technical documentation.
  • Creating 3D CAD models of packaging components and system assemblies when required
  • Transfer 3D CAD models to thermal simulation software, setup and run simulations.
  • Performs required measurements, interpret, evaluate and reports results.

Experience and Skills Required

  • 1-5 years post graduate experience in a similar test engineering or a customer facing engineering position within a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Bachelor Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related subject)

  • Excellent customer service and liaising experience
  • A good understanding of Thermodynamics is required, whether acquired through formal education or hands-on experience.
  • Thermal simulation software experience would be an advantage, however not essential.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously within set
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, maths and presentation skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and diplomatically with all company personnel and customers under minimum supervision and be responsive to the requirements of department members and other departments with whom interaction is necessary.
  • Experience in writing technical documentation and reports would be a distinct advantage, however not essential. xiskglj
