We have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join a world-leading engineering organisation specialised in the design and manufacture of high-power capital equipment and special purpose machinery used in various industries.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and repair of the company’s high power industrial machines/equipment at customers' sites worldwide. Although a field position, the successful candidate must be based within a commutable distance to the company in Basingstoke. When you are not at customers' sites, you will be required to carry out tests and repairs at the HQ in Basingstoke. Your time will be split 50:50 between travelling and working at the HQ.

Experience/Skills required for the Field Service Engineer:

  • Previous electrical repair/service experience preferably gained in a field service role
  • Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment servicing and commissioning special purpose machines or capital equipment
  • Knowledge of power and electronics and basic mechanical handling would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of PLC in commissioning and fault finding is desirable; however, not essential as full training on Siemens S7 will be provided
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Flexible approach, outgoing, technically motivated and interested in a high level of Customer Service
  • Good organisation skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management, both internal and external
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas in Europe is a fundamental requirement of this role, and the majority of installations will require you to be away from home for a week at a time
  • Good familiarity with oscilloscopes and all types of electrical test equipment
