Are you a Building Manager who takes ownership of the day-to-day operation of a technically complex life sciences building in central London? Due to the departure of a colleague, we are looking for a new Building Manager for our Mayde location in King’s Cross, part of the London Knowledge Quarter. Kadans owns and operates a purpose-built life sciences building combining GMP manufacturing, laboratory and office space. The building supports organisations working in regulated and research intensive environments, where reliability, safety and continuity are critical.

As Building Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the building performs as intended and supports tenants in their daily operations. You are a visible presence on site and play a central role in keeping the building running smoothly. In this role, the focus is on operational building management. You work closely with tenants, suppliers and internal teams, combining day-to-day operations with fit-out activities and the ongoing optimisation of the building.

About The Role

  • Responsibility for the operational management of the building, including hard and soft services.
  • Management of external service providers such as security, cleaning, reception and logistics, with performance monitoring against agreed KPIs.
  • Act as the operational point of contact for tenants and support the commercial team during and after the leasing phase.
  • Collaboration with development and tenant fit-out teams to support fit-out works within the building.
  • Line management of the laboratory manager on site and support the daily operation of shared laboratory facilities, including gases and waste streams.
  • Monitoring of the building management system and timely follow-up on faults, alerts and irregularities.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and attending tenant meetings where required.

Where you will work

The role is fully based on site at Mayde in King’s Cross, London. Mayde is a technically advanced life sciences building with GMP facilities, laboratories and office space under one roof. The building includes central gas systems, dedicated plant, advanced air handling and 24‑hour on‑site security. Close collaboration with tenants operating in regulated and research intensive environments is a key part of the role. The position sits within the property management team and reports directly to the Senior Operations Lead. Daily on‑site presence and a high level of operational involvement are required.
