Job Summary
Post: Physical Activity Consultant
Job Ref: L1423
Rate of Pay: £14.40 to £15.16 per hour depending on qualifications (KA Leisure provides workers with a minimum hourly rate of £13.52 under the Living Wage Initiative. Term and Conditions apply)
Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week (Part-time hours may be considered)
Duration: Temporary for 12 months (with possibility of being extended depending on funding)
Location: Based at Auchenharvie Leisure Centre with requirement to travel across North Ayrshire
Responsibilities
- Proactively promote and deliver within the Health & Wellbeing Service and all related projects and events delivered by the Active Lifestyles Team.
- Deliver health checks and healthy lifestyle advice within local communities, referring to partner agencies where appropriate.
- Deliver consultations and safe and effective exercise prescription for participants referred into the Active North Ayrshire Physical Activity on Referral Programme.
- Maintain databases and records within the Physical Activity programme ensuring compliance with confidentiality and access.
Qualifications
- Qualification in physical activity, health, wellbeing or fitness (HND or CIMSPA Level2).
- Desirable: REPS Level 3 Qualification in Physical Activity on Referral or be working towards this. (Assistance may be given to the right candidate in gaining this qualification – Training salary LW £13.52 per hour)
- Full Drivers Licence.
Additional Information
Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme, undergo a PVG Scheme update or complete a Police Check Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by KA Leisure. Successful candidates will meet the cost of the relevant PVG/Police Scotland check; it will be deducted from salary following commencement of employment with the Company.
Regulated Work with Children/Protected Adults: Where work is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and/or protected adults. Dependent on the classification of post, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme or complete a Police Check Scotland before a formal offer of employment is made.
