K3TA (part of the K3 Capital Group) is looking for an experienced personal tax advisor to join our Family & Wealth team. The role is ideal for someone who has completed the CTA qualification (or equivalent) and has a strong background in advising high-net-worth individuals and families on all aspects of UK personal taxation. This includes inheritance tax planning, residence and domicile issues, international movement of individuals, and general compliance and advisory work. The successful candidate will work closely with senior members of the team, including the Head of Family & Wealth and our two Managing Directors, manage a portfolio of private clients, and have ownership of a wide range of complex advisory projects. They will also play a key role in supporting and developing our trainees, helping to maintain the high technical and service standards that the team is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of advisory work and overseeing a small complex compliance portfolio.
- Provide clear, practical advice on a broad range of personal tax matters, including IHT, CGT, residence and domicile, offshore structures, family wealth planning, and trusts.
- Assist with detailed advisory reports, technical research, and structuring projects, particularly in relation to foreign income and gains regime users, international arrivals and departures, and succession planning.
- Review work prepared by trainees, offering feedback and guidance to support their technical development.
- Oversee workflow within the team, helping to prioritise tasks and maintain high-quality output.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring that advice is delivered in a professional, approachable and easy-to-understand manner.
- Contribute to internal training, knowledge sharing, and process improvements.
Skills and Experience
- CTA qualified or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in UK personal taxation, with exposure to high-net-worth and internationally mobile clients.
- Comfortable handling complex advisory work with appropriate support.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, client-friendly language.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Willingness to continue to develop professionally, given the changing nature of tax legislation.
