Programme: K3 Advisory Group Graduate Programme (24 months)

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Surveyor to join our Building & Project Consultancy team. This role offers the opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience in core building consultancy areas together with contract administration and project management while working towards completing the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and achieving MRICS status.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse client base, including banks, investors, insolvency practitioners and corporate clients, supporting them in complex restructuring and distressed asset scenarios.

The role will have two distinct workstreams:

1. Traditional Building and Project Consultancy work for retailers, industrial occupiers and corporate clients. The work will include dilapidations, schedules of condition, surveys, due diligence, reinstatement cost assessments, contract administration, project management and design/specification of work.

2. Work alongside our wider Real Estate & Advisory teams on stressed or distressed assets providing detailed technical advice on compliance matters (planning, building control, H&S and warranties) and advising on works and cost to complete developments. This largely centered around construction due diligence, ascertaining the status of development projects. A large portion of this work is on residential properties/developments and therefore the candidate needs to have a detailed understanding of residential development.

Graduate Experience

  • Support senior surveyors and directors in undertaking inspections, measurements, desktop statutory research and report writing.
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules of conditions and schedules of dilapidations.
  • Contribute to advisory projects for lenders, administrators and receivers in relation to distressed development sites.
  • Assist with the preparation of budget costs to complete developments to support recommendations.
  • Assist with property disposals and asset management strategies arising from insolvency cases.
  • Assist with management of construction work.
  • Actively participate in APC training, logging experience and developing the skills required to achieve MRICS accreditation.

Candidate Profile

  • Batchelors or Masters Degree in Building Surveyors from RICS accredited course.
  • Desire to develop in areas such as dilapidations, surveys, contract administration/project management, construction/technical due diligence and development monitoring.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build client relationships.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to completing the APC and achieving MRICS status.
  • A basic knowledge of AutoCad.

What We Offer

  • Hands-on experience in a high-growth professional services Group
  • Structured training and career development
