At HMA Tax, we specialise in helping commercial property owners identify unclaimed Capital Allowances to receive tax relief and refunds. We provide advice to many of the UK’s leading law firms, accountants and property developers. As the UK’s foremost independent experts in Capital Allowances, our team will ensure that our clients receive the maximum tax relief that they are entitled to.
We are now looking for a Chartered Surveyor to join a growing and dynamic Capital Allowances team. You will have the opportunity to work across a very diverse portfolio of commercial property. A full UK driving license and access to a car is also required.
- Carrying out surveys of commercial properties across the whole of the UK.
- The surveys consist of identifying qualifying capital expenditure of plant and machinery for business and property owners.
- Liaise with clients, accountants and legal advisors to gather relevant property and financial information.
- This role involves a combination of tax, property, and surveying expertise to maximize capital allowances claims under CAA 2001 Legislation.
- Opportunity to shape the surveying services for the full business and to be involved in large infrastructure projects.
- Conduct detailed property inspections across a range of different commercial properties across the UK.
- Capturing all the relevant items within a property with our internal system.
- Preparing Reports – identifying within the properties items eligible for capital allowances via our own database system.
- Meeting with site contacts/clients – be able to communicate effectively the purposes of our survey to the relevant parties.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
- Strong understanding of property construction and building services.
- Experience within Capital Allowance, tax or related surveying field.
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
