Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technicians plan, install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems. Plumbing and domestic heating technicians can find themselves working inside or outside a property. Over the course of the apprenticeship, the learner will be trained to work independently and without immediate supervision in an efficient and safe manner. They can set out jobs from drawings and specifications and identify the necessary installation materials. Finally, they will be working towards industry standards and continuously showcasing positive H&S practises. Typical duties include:
- Accurately measure, cut, bend, and connect metallic and plastic pipework;
- 1st and 2nd fix plumbing systems
- Working on a range of equipment and appliances including water pumps, air con units, thermostats, pressure relief valves;
- Waste, soil stacks, and rainwater pipework;
- Commissioning/decommissioning equipment and appliances.
Trade/Site-Based Role -This role involves regular manual handling of loads up to 25kg, working outdoors, and working on uneven terrain. K10 Apprenticeships will consider reasonable adjustments where possible to support individuals in carrying out the essential duties of the role.

Typical Working Week
40 hours p/w with start time between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of 8 hours at college. You will be paid for the hours you're in college.
