This apprenticeship is part of The Thames Water Shared Apprenticeship Scheme and is a programme sponsored by Thames Water to address the skills gaps within their supply chain. The scheme features a compulsory industry rotation to enable apprentices to get experience in different environments and boost the chances of further employment in the sector.
HR support apprentices assist in daily administrative and human resources duties in an organisation. They play a pivotal role in creating a harmonious and productive work environment. Duties may include:
- Providing policy guidance, offering information on company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Manage employee relations by mediating conflicts, conducting investigations, and facilitating communication.
- Assist in recruitment, including job postings, initial interviews, and coordinating onboarding for new hires.
- Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department.
- Support performance management, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues.
- Coordinate HR-related training programs, workshops and seminars.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, assisting in legal employment matters.
- Participate in initiatives to develop and nurture a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Maintain accurate and secure employee records and documentation.

Typical Working Week: 40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Desired Requirements: The passion and commitment to work in human resources. It will be advantageous if you already have previous related work experience or completed HR/CIPD related qualifications, but certainly not essential.
Key Training/College Information: K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 HR Support course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. On completion of this Apprenticeship, you may be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or any other professional body that recognises this apprenticeship within its membership criteria. The apprenticeship duration is 18 months.
Eligibility: To start this apprenticeship, you'll need to be:
- Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status.
- Not enrolled on any other courses.
- 18+ due to site H&S rules.
- Must drive and have access to their own vehicle.
