A Project Controls Technician supports the planning and control of engineering, manufacturing, construction and infrastructure projects.
Working alongside experienced project controls professionals, they help monitor project progress, analyse performance data, and maintain accurate project information.
The role develops practical skills in planning, scheduling, reporting and project coordination while gaining experience using industry-standard project controls software.
Duties typically include: Assisting with the development and maintenance of project programmes, schedules and baseline plans.
Monitoring project progress and updating programme information using project controls software.
Collecting, recording and analysing project performance data to support reporting.
Preparing project reports, dashboards and planning documentation.
Reviewing and interpreting technical information, including engineering drawings and construction plans.
Supporting programme coordination by communicating with project teams and attending planning meetings.
Assisting with identifying programme risks, delays and changes, and maintaining accurate project records.
Supporting the preparation of work breakdown structures, schedules and project documentation.
Maintaining organised digital records and version control of project information.
Working in accordance with company policies, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
Office-Based Role This role involves prolonged periods of desk-based work, computer use and telephone communication within an office environment.
