A Site Carpenter will prepare and install basic building components (e.g., doors, straight staircases, wall and floor units) and erect structural carpentry and roof structures on a building site or in domestic and commercial premises. The role generally liaises with trades such as bricklayers, plasterers, plumbers, supervisors, site management and contractors. The employee will work in a team, under supervision, using machinery and tools to create roof structures, floors, partitions, and second‑fix work such as door frames and skirting.
Typical Duties
- Install door/window frames, floor joist coverings, partitions, cladding, stair components
- Erect inclined roofs with gables
- Repair or replace doors, windows, mouldings, frames
- Set up and use saw, drills, biscuit jointer, disc cutter
Typical Work Pattern
40 hours per week with start times typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Minimum Requirements
English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 1 or above.
Desired Requirements
The passion and commitment to become fully qualified in Carpentry. Advantageous if you have completed technical certificates in construction or multi‑skills, have previous related work experience and a CSCS, but this is not essential.
Key Training / College Information
K10 will enrol you to the Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is 24 months with an additional 3 months for the End Point Assessment (EPA).
